The Magical Gals will be spending the day tomorrow at the Encinitas Environmental Fair,which is taking place at Cottonwood Creek Park.

Magical Child along with a variety of other local businesses will be showcasing a wide variety of

eco-friendly and Earth conscious products.

Here is a bit of what San Diego Coast Life had to say about tomorrows event...

"Encinitas Environment Day is the embodiment of "Think globally, Act locally." This fair showcases the environmental efforts and opportunities within the city of Encinitas by local government agencies, environmental organizations (such as Surfrider, Sierra Club, San Elijo Lagoon Conservancy, etc.) and local businesses (such as EDCO, Dudek & many others).

The fair also includes educational and interactive activities such as a pedal-powered smoothie maker (Kids pedal-power a smoothie blender while learning how much power is needed for everyday appliances), paper-making, recycled art, Dr. Zoolittle of the world-famous San Diego Zoo, the Birch Aquarium, and more, as well as local music and organic food.
Get entered into a free raffle for prizes such as a bicycle for walking or riding a bike there! (There is an Encinitas bike ride the morning of 6/6/10). And, help clean a local beach or Cottonwood Creek!
This event is fun, but packs a punch. Those who attend are serious about the environment. And, you can see free environmentally-themed films, speakers, workshops, and exhibits at the new, environmentally-designed Encinitas Library during Green Spring Encinitas (Held from Earth Day, 4/22, through Encinitas Environment Day, 6/6)."

Everyday must have: Snuggles from my two little boys, a kiss from my husband, my camera and a vanilla latte.

In a Spare Moment: You will find me editing photographs, writing my family blog or crafting...

Favorite part of being a Magical Gal: Interacting with other mothers and families. Being able to share the little pieces of wisdom that I have picked up along the way throughout my six years of motherhood. I also feel incredibly lucky to have the opportunity to work along side such amazing women. I'm constantly inspired while at work.

Hopes for your future: I hope that my future is full of health and prosperity not only for myself but for my family and friends as well. I also hope that I will continue to make huge strides towards fulfilling my personal dreams and aspirations in life.

Summer Plans: I plan to soak up as much time with my little guys as possible before school starts again in the fall. You will find us on the beach for the majority of the summer, enjoying a few slow schedule free months. I can't wait!

Favorite line or product that Magical Child carries/Why? My most favorite line that Magical Child carries would have to be Mary's Softdough. I think that it's an incredible product and such a joy to play with. My boys completely love her softdough! My favorite scent is Tutti-Fruity...

If and when I get a spare moment I love working out. Going to yoga and going swimming or on a walk is relaxing. Unfortunately, I rarely get to do these things.

Favorite Part Of Being A Magical Gal:

Learning something new every time that I work. Being the youngest, I have the least experience. But with the help of my magical ladies, I have come so far!

Hopes For Your Future:

I am going to attend San Diego State University in the Fall of 2010 and will major in International Business. I want to travel the world and make a difference!

Summer Plans:

My summer plans are to enjoy my last couple of months at home with my family. I want to go on a road trip and of course go to my favorite place on earth... The beach!

When we discovered this company recently, we were completely blown away!
This is truly an EARTH FRIENDLY company if there ever was one. Their products are made of 100% recycled/non-toxic materials, and are 100% recyclable. The rocket ship would be a great addition to any playroom to create a canvas for imagination! These pieces can be painted and decorated in limitless ways!

Magical Child is an upscale children’s boutique specializing children’s toys, books, clothing, shoes and all the mommy necessities including cloth diapers, diaper bags, nursing bras, parenting books and more.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated, outgoing individual with retail experience and a flexible schedule.

The hours of availability must include but are not limited to: M-F days and some evenings, minimum of one weekend per month, seasonal travel for Trade Shows.

Responsibilities to include customer service/sales, inventory control, purchasing and receiving, visual merchandising, displays, assist with marketing, advertising and promotional events.

Experience should include at least 2 years retail experience, QuickBooks Point of Sale knowledge, merchandising experience a plus and of course a love of children.

We offer a fun, friendly, positive and creative work environment, competitive pay and a generous employee discount.

Just in...HUGE Plan Toys shipment! We have just received a great big order from one of our favorite companies, including their newest in kitchen accesories, Plan Preschool, and Plan City. Check out these pics of some of our favorites!

Fun in the Sun...and Sand!

Summer is here! And we have just received a huge delivery of sand and water toys from Spielstabil, a very high quality German manufacturer. These toys are not only “indestructible” according to Spielstabil, but they are also designed to promote fun and imagination.

One of our favorite toys that arrived is a Bricklayer Set which “includes a trowel, level, and spreader to smooth and texture sand”. Imagine the sand castles you and your kids can build with these kind of top notch tools.

Also featured are Sand Sieves, Scoops, Buckets, Shovels and Sand Molds. We even have Water Pumps and Sand & Water Mills. The Large Shovels are great for digging gigantic holes at the beach or perhaps a sand labyrinth.

In our efforts to stay current with technology, we have decided to launch our Magical Child blog! The more we thought about it, the more excited we got. If you have ever been into the store, you know that all of us take our work very seriously and that makes helping all of our great customers so much fun. We genuinely love the products we carry in here, from slings and baby carriers to cloth diapers, to beautiful clothing and safe / green toys...and talking about it all is definitely our specialty. That's why writing a blog is going to be so exciting, we can talk about all of our favorite things in the store and in the world that inspire us.

We have been busy working on so many new aspects of life at Magical Child over the past couple of years. We have expanded our registry program and love walking through the store with moms and dads-to-be as they hand pick their registry items. Why not come to one place for your Ergo, BOB stroller and Ju Ju Be diaper bag; throw in some Bum Genius diapers and a four pack of Aden & Anais Swaddlers and you'll be on your way. We have also introduced the kids' birthday club; we send out a cute little postcard, from all of us here at Magical Child, which is good for "$5 Magical Bucks" that your little one can spend on a birthday treat of choice. We all love this program because the kids are so darn cute! And, we have complimentary gift wrap all the time. Finally, our events have been so much fun; our 2nd annual Mother's Day Event this past May was a huge success. We have also done holiday events and had a big bash this year at the Encinitas Street Fair.
